Working with HBO, showrunner Lauren LeFranc, director/EP Matt Reeves, and our talented design team, Filmograph had the special opportunity to craft a main title sequence about Gotham's number one villain. Hailing from the seedy side of the city's Crown Point neighborhood, Oz Cobb has plans to rise through the ranks of the underworld and take a stranglehold on the mob's power vacuum after the death of its boss, Carmine Falcone. Using a mixed media approach, our gritty paint-lacquered compositions are layered shot over shot, as each scene gives the viewer an abstract, noir-ish portrayal of The Penguin's takeover of Gotham, a city on the brink.
